Community Energy Warwickshire’s founder members came together in late 2010 to get the co-op registered and start work on our first renewable energy project – solar panels at Warwick and Stratford hospitals.

More members joined us through our offer of shares November 2011-February 2012 – enabling us to raise the capital to fund the installation of 60 kWp of solar panels at the hospitals. And numbers increased following our second share offer in summer 2014.

Members of Community Energy Warwickshire appoint the Board of Directors each year at the Annual General Meeting. They are also invited to special events to help plan future activities – to date, we’ve held special workshops on anaerobic digestion and new ideas for renewable energy generation which have been attended by half our members. Members have also been invited to give their views of Community Energy Warwickshire and its progress to date through an online members’ survey, which was completed by nearly a third of all members.
